Actions for the Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): the Case of the IA-Edu Initiative by the Fundação Cecierj

The IA-Edu Initiative was developed with the purpose of encouraging the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the activities carried out by the Cecierj Foundation in its various projects. The objective of the Initiative was to define recommendations and ethical guidelines for the responsible use of artificial intelligence in the educational and managerial areas, covering all audiences – students, teachers, and civil servants – served by the Cecierj Foundation. In this context, the objective of this research was to analyse the central issues involving the ethical and responsible use of AI systems, as outlined in the User Guides for Teachers, Students and Civil Servants, the Code of Ethics and Use, and the Prompt Construction Guide produced by the IA-Edu Initiative. This is a qualitative and interpretative research study, which used IA-Edu publications as sources of analysis in the investigation. The approach to the theme was based on specialised literature, anchored in the concepts of surveillance capitalism and the new reason of the world . The main results indicate that the IA-Edu initiative, from the Cecierj Foundation, highlights the strategic relevance of the responsible use of artificial intelligence in education and scientific dissemination, which can contribute to the promotion of public policies based on scientific evidence.
