Abstract

This paper aims to describe and analyze the work of a History teacher/trainer in the continuing education of Basic Education teachers in Teotônio Vilela, Alagoas, with an emphasis on the strategies used and their contributions to strengthening and redefining the teaching practice of History teachers in the final years of Elementary School. The methodology used is qualitative, configured as an Experience Report, a narrative observed in nine training sessions held in 2024. The results indicate that the sessions combined synchronous and asynchronous activities. The final considerations indicate that continuing education contributes significantly to strengthening teacher autonomy and protagonism, promoting pedagogical practices aligned with the construction of a democratic and socially just education.
