Methodology for Research on Teaching Work in Innovative Distance Teaching Contexts in the Light of Psychodynamics of Work
DOI:

This article presents a mixed methodological proposal for the study of teaching
work in Distance Education (DE), in the light of Psychodynamics of Work (POW). The
text pursues the objective of developing a methodological framework for research of
mixed methods in Psychodynamics of Work, in view of the innovative context of
teaching work in contemporary times. POW is the theoretical lens proposed from its
contextual dimensions (working conditions, work organization, work relations) and
content dimensions (pleasure-suffering, psychic load, subjective mobilization, identity,
defense strategies), considered pertinent to study the object: teaching work in the
distance learning regime. The framework presents a proposal for field research based
on the application of interviews, as a qualitative method, and scales, as a quantitative
method. It is proposed that the material collected from the interviews be analyzed, as
a totalizing narrative about the object, through the technique of Analysis of the Core
of Sense (ACS), proper to the qualitative analysis in POW. The text completes the
methodological proposal with the indication of collection of quantitative data, based on
the application of two scales, also specific to the POW, belonging to the Work
Inventory and Risks (WIDR): Work Context Assessment Scale (WCAS) and the
Pleasure Indicators Scale and Suffering at Work (PISSW).
