About the Journal
EaD em Foco journal is a scientific publication in electronic format, with no costs involved in processing or publication, with continuous periodicity from the Cecierj Foundation and the Cederj Consortium. Its main purpose is to disseminate the academic production of researchers in the field of distance education (DE), inserted in institutions in Brazil and abroad.
Among its duties are the following:
- To address conceptual and methodological issues, as well as developments in research, applied or theoretical, in the area of "‹"‹distance education (DE);
- To disseminate the scientific production of researchers in the field of distance education (DE), inserted in research institutes and higher education in Brazil and abroad;
- To provide a space for theoretical debate about specific areas of focus.
Plagiarism
EaD em Foco journal will verify the presence of plagiarism through the tools OriginalityCheck or SimilarityCheck, in all submitted manuscripts before submitting them for peer review. The Editorial Team considers the duplicated or fragmented publication of the same research as an ethical infraction.
Peer Review Process
The complete flow, from submission to final publication, is summarized below:
A - Submission of the manuscript in the electronic system of the journal EaD em Foco.
B - Pre-evaluation of the manuscript to check for errors in formatting or in filling in the information, in addition to certifying if it has sufficient academic quality to proceed to the next step.
C - Two "ad hoc" reviewers are selected to evaluate the manuscript (double blind), having the following options: Accept, Mandatory corrections, submit again for evaluation or Reject. In case of divergence of opinions, other evaluators will be selected.
D - The author must consider the recommendations made by the referees and carry out, if necessary, the requested changes. When returning with a new version, make the changes made explicit to the reviewers at the end of the document, which may also be highlighted in the body of the text (red or blue). If all the changes are satisfactory, the Editor-in-Chief will give the final decision for the publication of the manuscript, even if it has been previously approved by the referees. After a few rounds of evaluation, if gaps remain that still compromise the quality of the work, the manuscript should be rejected.
E - The authors are notified about the approval of the article and soon after it will be published in a temporary version (in press).
F - After being submitted for review in Portuguese and English, and after completing the diagramming stage, the article will be published in its final version.
Important remarks
- Some works present in the editions may be the result of invitations sent to specialists, due to their notorious competence and academic excellence in the area.
- The Editor-in-Chief may analyze the relevance of publishing results previously presented at scientific events.
- All seniors undergo the same evaluation procedures, under the responsibility of Associate Editors and Chief Editors.
- Articles that contain plagiarism, that do not have a consent form for the use of images (if applicable) or that are being evaluated or published in parallel in any other scientific journal, partially or in full, will be rejected and filed, even if they have already been approved previously.
- Following the new trends of opening up the evaluation process, journal EaD em Foco offers authors and reviewers the option of dialoguing about the research, without revealing their identities.
Frequency
EaD em Foco journal has only one annual issue in continuous flow (rolling pass) for all publications.
Open Access Policy
This journal offers immediate free access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public provides greater worldwide democratization of knowledge.
